He seemed suspicious and startled, which Menta had not been entirely expecting. The cream's grin slowly faded even as she gave a few conscious wags in an attempt to show passiveness friendliness. I mean no harm, she tried cautiously, staying in place. Perhaps her joy for the fruit had made her a bit too bold - certainly she was acting much more bold than she had as a lone wolf, and now she needed to curb her enthusiasm.
