The Heartwood not this year

And to think I was doubting to make Brechin a moose, damn. Haha. Now I wish I made him one. :P

 Brechin had traveled further, looking for females to find a harem. Usually mating season didn't start until autumn but he liked to already gather some small following of females that he would be able to fight for. One that would want him to win and cheer him on.

The stag moved forward through the woods, wondering if here there were more deer like him. He still felt rather lonely. He hadn't seen much deer around, maybe they were still returning from their travels to the green lands, maybe they would not return home like he had?

The stag stiffened when he heard movement. Though his fear didn't stay long because his eyes fell on a moose, a cow to be exact. For a bull he might made way but maybe this female could give him some company, then at least both would have an extra set of eyes and ears out for predators. "Hello," he greeted.
