the appearance of asherah paused the canaanite, however, and despite the bulge of her sides, eshamun regained her regal stance. the girl had been regularly visited by ar-khalba, and while the woman was not riddled by jealousy, there was an envy there she decided was the result of her stirred emotions. "hello, asherah," eshamun murmured gently. "how have you been?"
