The man turned to her, and Amber could see the sadness weighing on his heart. It brought her to a halt, tipping her head and blinking a couple of rapid times. Were he someone she knew, she'd have already asked what was wrong, but perhaps this wasn't a time to pry.
He nodded, respectful, and the shadowy queen took a more neutral pose. She didn't know he was the leader of a pack, but did it really matter right now? He was close to her home, which may give reason for her to be testy, but they're on nobodies land right now. Why bother with pushing for dominance when friendship, and through that knowledge, was so much easier?
"My name is Amber, Amber Ciel. My home, Silver Creek, isn't too far from here. What about you?"
