Mount Everfall God loves his children

The thread we've all (mostly me) been waiting for! Posting this about a week early than I thought I would, but I'm impatient and a vibrating ball of excitement right now!

He followed Amber's scent through the night, distancing himself enough to not rouse suspicion as she unwittingly led him back to her home. The scent of the creek pack was strong -- intermingled with its scent he could smell his grandmother, Spring, and Laika. Curiously, Saena's scent had faded like a summer breeze. Could she have gone? If so, had she taken the children with her? Hiram asked himself this as he drew away from the detection of the pack to wait by the mountain looming over the creek. He had not traveled this far to return without his children. They were there, they had to be. He would accept no other answer.

The sun would soon rise, but for now the mountain was shrouded in dusky darkness. There, he settled -- waiting in the cool earth as he planned and plotted.
