two little ones. Casmir too had taken many moments to be with them, to look upon them, to say their names. his days were happily swallowed by Indra, Laurel, and Laika, and the boy was content.
soon he would have more sisters and brothers at Donnelaith. vowing to visit more often, Casmir pulled off his patrol-path to move in the direction of Laurel's voice.
something gnawed at the boy, somethinh akin to fear as he picked up the tendrils of his daughter's scent. why did these two wander so damn much! he swore to himself, catching sight of Laika's pale fur and Laurel's own pretty coat.
whatever words he meant to speak died in the boy's throat as he laid eyes on the dark, scarred man who contemplated his wife and child. Laika's tense body firmed his own, and he drew near with hackles raised, placing himself between the two Creek wolves and the stranger.
a low growl warned the other back, and there came the strange feeling again that Casmir somehow knew this man, knew those features beneath the ragged fur and old scars. his yellow eyes burned and he was silent with the weight of his threat.
