But then came the next best thing; a packmate! He limped toward her, making it seem like the bite was much worse than it was (being a dramatic little pup, after all). But halfway there, he discovered limping was far too slow, and walked toward her normally, expression set in a sad frown. Tears welled in his eyes, as he gestured toward his shoulder.

"Big mean bug attack me. Bite! Look!" He twisted so that the lump on his shoulder was in her face. "Look!"
