Mount Everfall God loves his children

He had nothing left to say -- not that Spring would have listened anyway. He was not a monster, but simply a man who had made a mistake. Spring, however, would not see it by her own choice. She had demonized Hiram's character so far that there was nothing more that he could be in her eyes. It was no use fighting, so he sighed and turned away. "Take care Spring," he muttered, truly meaning the words as he turned to leave. He wished no ill upon Spring; he only wanted what was rigtfully his, and for his children he would linger somewhere near the creek. 

Hanging his head with shame, he trailed away from the Creek's claimed territory. Something Spring had said resonated deep with him and his guilt soon followed. His chance to raise his girls from the beginning, he had squandered it without thought. Now, with perfect hindsight, he wished he would have done things differently.

To go back and be Reek Redtail -- he would do it in a heartbeat.
