Aspen blinked a few times as a call echoed off the walls of the tunnel. It was her mate, calling for the pack. Aspen felt a smile crawl across her maw almost immediately. Today was the day their pack would finally become official. All their hard work had paid off and now it was time. Time to call this place our home. Aspen yawned and rose quickly to her feet stretching briefly before beginning to trot happily down the tunnels pausing to stop outside Ayla's den letting out a short bark in the entrance.
Aspen then continued to trot down the tunnels and out into the forest making a bee line for the clearing where Charley lay.
Once arriving she quickly climbed up onto the rock beside him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before looking out through the tree an onto the horizon. This place was finally their home. Everything she could ever dream of was right here. She had a place she could call her own and a mate to share it with. Maybe someday she would have a litter of puppies and expand the pryor brood. Only time would tell. For now she was happy right where she was.
It was barely dawn but the howl would ring out just as the sun crawled over the horizon. Announcing to the world that they were here.

Hooray!!
