The next question took him by surpise. "I suppose never was sort of an overstatement. As a pup I had parents for a while, but after a while of caring for me, I suppose they got tired of it. Left me in the early stages and never came back," he muttered, rolling his shoulders back in a shrug. He wasn't filled with rage over the matter, but was rather curious on why they left in the first place.
