A sudden washing of anxiety struck her at the thought of her old home and the sweet apple color of Eljay’s eyes. The inky child wondered if she would see him again, or if she had been taken to another world to live with her new family. They were nice enough, and she did not find anything wrong with the kindness they had shown her after the monster had dropped her to the earth.
