The freckled she-wolf looked up, and Lucia met her emerald green eyes with the amber gaze of her own.

"Nice to meet you as well," she said, half speaking and half studying the girl before her. Portia was unlike what she had ever seen --  beautiful, but different. Like the gemstones, or whatever they were called. "These...gemstones, can you tell me why you have them? Are you merely a collector, or do they serve some sort of purpose?" she queried, tilting her head ever so slightly.
