Hushed Willows furnace

Her jaw moved a bit as she began chewing on the inside of her cheek again.  It was a mindless motion, something that worked to keep her grounded in the moment when her heart fluttered right along his his deep voice.  Banner nodded when Buchanan recounted his flashbacks.  She hadn't witnessed one, but they sounded incredibly intense.  If the pair continued on as they were, she supposed it was only a matter of time until that side of him revealed itself to her, but that didn't frighten her in the least.  It sounded so similar to what she went through with her all-ecompassing anger episodes.

She didn't, however, want to assume anything about his flashbacks.  Not being able to tell what was real - that wasn't something she'd experienced.  Everything in her hazy red rage was too real.  The Beta bit down a little harder than usual on her cheek and froze her jaw for a beat and it just happened to coincide with Buchanan's admission that he thought he could handle her too.  Her grip released and she moved forward two paces.  Still her she yearned to bury her nose in his fur, to take in his scent and let his warmth surround her with comfort.  But Banner hesitated.  This was a conversation they needed to have.  Well, as much as two wolves who spoke very little could have, anyway.

I think.. I can handle you, she said softly, her eyes roaming his much larger frame.  Phsically he'd overpower her any day of the week.  Mentally?  Yeah, probably that, too.  The scarred male had a great deal of control over himself in her experience.  Maybe if she raged out on him.  She tended to lose herself in that awful emotion and get into a state where she felt no pain.  It didn't last, naturally, and hurt like hell for days afterward.  Banner blinked and gave him a shy smile.  You know what I mean, she mumbled.  Damn, why did her face always have to heat up when she was around him?
