Jolon padded slowly through his home. His leg felt like it was new, and he had eaten the leaves Asterr had wanted him to eat. Everything was going smoothly, if the air did not carry the scent of young. He wanted to see them so badly, but knew to keep away from the place they were located. It was not his place, he knew, not until he had proven himself or had died trying to do so. Silently he longed for a family, but realized Asterr would never let him mate with Avannon with winter on their doorstep and pups to take care of herself. She was the leader after all... Apparently her children meant more. Jolon still didn't get it- if he were to mate wouldn't his pups matter at all to his home? Maybe one of Asterr's children would become a traitor... wouldn't it have been the wrong choice to have worshiped them then? Children were equal in his eyes until they could think, act and speak for themselves.

He crossed the border but didn't go far- returning only half an hour later with a rabbit between his teeth. All this thinking had made him hungry, and it was time for a meal.
