So the Caldera had come for Lucy – in his own frantic rush, the cinnamon wolf was unable to piece together if the masked stranger was Lucy’s father – but the name Shrike did not seem familiar, and in the manner with which the wolf was determined to accompany his daughter, he did not think the two related. It seemed strange to him, that they had sent another – but he did not dwell on it.
 
Instead, tipping his muzzle down with quiet confirmation that she could accompany Shrike to Moonspear, the regal kissed his daughter upon her brow, before his own form began to stride in the opposite direction of the two – and towards the western coasts.
