At the screech of her child, the woman lept at incredible speed in the direction of it's echoing call, a sound she had dreaded to hear ever in the life of her children. It had sent a chill down her spine. They would always and forevermore be her greatest weakness, and it was apparent so as thundering feet hit the ground; eyes wide. However, the sight of her daughter tugging on her son's paw indicated the source of pain the boy was experiencing, lowering her level of deep concern. Though she did not approach the two with the urgency she had, there was a level of maternal desperation that caused her to stride forward, pulling the two into an unwavering engulfment of her fur, an embrace seldom bestowed upon any. They were her children, and although none had yet posed a threat to their existence, there was nothing she would not do for them; that much was sure as she ushered them towards the den, taking turns murdering reassurances and promises that the tall, dark and scary blackfeather woods would be the one they would rule.
