In doing so, however, he would have missed the information that his current patient had nothing to do with instigating the conflict that had landed him where he was.

He put a pin in the knowledge and packed the pulp into a mound between his tongue and the roof of his mouth before applying the portion to the gaping neck wound and spreading it in a thin layer with his nose.
