She, like him, was silent - was she in a place like he was? Did she have a mate? Twisting and giving a gentle lick to her flank, he could scent nobody on her that had become a part of her, that was around long enough to mingle scents. 
When he realized she wouldn't look at him, he chuffed softly, in question. Suddenly thankful for the uncomfortable knot that tied them, Alder took the time he had to talk to her. 

                             "So.... Where're you from? I'm sorry if I've fucked things up but.... Well, if you aren't far I'd like to give you the help you deserve."

He didn't realize that this might not even take: even if she was in heat, that didn't mean there was no chance he wouldn't be a father again. In his mind, she already was expecting his children, and unlike with the pack woman, he felt obliged to help. The Court, however, was full - even if he wanted to tell Aspen, there was no room for another litter, not after Eden gave birth.
