Alder could feel her tension, and it hurt - even her denial he couldn't believe. Her words were as short and clipped as the responses themselves, and the King sighed. 

                       "Look, I want to help - try to join one of the packs around here, and if you are, I'll provide."

It was then their bond broke; Alder slipped free of Honey, but as much as he jsut wanted to sink to the ground and nap, he forced himself to turn to her and reach out gently.
