No prey targeted by Kaizer that day would have prospered. He was fueled by an alien sense of hyper-attentiveness, driven by instinct and desperation to succeed. He treated the hunting part of the assignment as if his life depended on it, his singular focus to the task making him an inescapable voyeur for small prey. His first chosen quarry— a hare— went down without much effort. His face had been buffeted and scratched by the creature before dispatching it, but besides a small cut beneath his eye that would heal easily on its own, he was raring for another chase.
Boundlessly, the Bluesummer wolf pursued more prey; though he began to feel like he was wasting his time now, as two, then three more small mammals slipped from his grasp. Before retiring, he changed tactic. Tired of carrying his weight light enough to sneak upon rabbits, he decided to try an animal with worse hearing, and found himself stalking a flock of pheasants.
Instead of serving up a disaster at his initial lunge, the confusion of the crowd set afterwards caused enough of a scramble that Kaizer's reflexes were quick enough to recover and snag one of the feathered beasts out of the air.

In the night following his departure from their borders, he returns; confident and eager, with bird and hare dangling haphazardly between clamped jaws. He began crossing through Caldera territory, following the stringent scent of @Fox (and to a lesser degree, the recognizably medicinal aroma of @Raven), so that he might show his worth to those he thought mattered. Or could, in the very least, be familiar with.
