Kaizer caught the galloping sound with an alert turn of his ears, and knew immediately to drop what occupied his mouth so that he might defend himself. The fast-approach figure was all white as far as he could tell, and clearly intent on violating him. Though Bluesummer had come here at the mercy of this pack, he would prove to be no pushover, and it felt very natural for him to spar into the ranks— make his weight felt, as opposed to just being seen— which made him turn to meet the boy in kind, rather than submitting.

Mistakenly, he didn't know the boy carried a residual fury with him over the loss of his father. Kaizer fully expected a fair fight, where wolves did not seek to maim one another, only assert their dominance, but he did not anticipate true wrath towards his presence. He stutter-stepped away from the first attack, thankfully not taking any teeth that strike, but he lunged himself, seeking to capture the male by the nape with well-practiced teeth that would not in the least seek to break skin.
