Kaizer knew he was fighting a losing battle with the white wolf— almost his full-grown weight and therefore a severe challenge to contain— if only because he had broken their etiquette and trespassed. He might have thrown his weight down further if he hadn't become aware of the blood rushing in his ears on his right side; roaring... warning... warning...

His head twisted slightly, stormy eye widening as another adolescent clouded his view with teeth and tan fur. Kaizer released the white wolf and kicked backwards, twisting away from the second wolf with an absent patch of fur on the right side of his neck that said that he had been there. Unless in defense of someone, he would never engage in a fight where he was outnumbered. There was no sense in him losing life or limb over a clash in cultures.

The grey wolf ran, and would run as far as they chased. Redhawk's mettle had been tested twice now, and he found them a plenty sound group with enough scrap (even in their yearlings) to defend their own. From the shadow, to the black-footed and his tawny compatriot; Kaizer wanted to belong. His hard work hunting was gone to waste, but that didn't matter. He was incapable of holding such grudges, especially those over food or fights.

He would return, after dawn; after re-energizing, and with the light of day to guide him better than the cover of night had.
