He smiled at her in admiration of her skill and courage and willingness to risk in order to gain more knowledge. He would never dare to venture that far. 

"Wasn't one dose enough?" he asked, a feeble attempt to refrain her from doing so. "I think that I will stick around. Before you do it, however, who should I inform of your demise? Just in case?" he was part-serious, part-joking.
