his mother was planning something. 
he realized this seconds after her tone, first irate and full of fire, changed to something void of that. come. his eyes glinted with curiousity and excitement, but already he turned and followed, a little ways away from the two yet following all the same. he was but a slate shadow a short distance from his mother's side, silent, yet time and time again his gaze flicked back to the male. he did not think much of him, his...defience of his mother. 

when he glanced back again, his expression was an odd one for but a second; a wicked grin, for he was sure, now, as they dwelt deeper into the Blackfeather, that whatever plan his mother had would not end well for the male.
