Kjalarr's roar silenced whatever retort Maude had. She stepped back, blinking in surprise, her ears pressed against her head. He spoke, reprimanding her for waiting. Maude berated herself; she never meant to...fuck. She should have done this sooner, long before Ondine's stupid... She was so ready, so willing to tear Ondine apart like she might have so easily done before if it had not been for his presence. He was the only thing holding her back now.
