Stone Circle Instincts Lead Me Home

Amber was officially too fat to hunt. The usually plump woman was broad-sided and reduced to waddling -- with the growing of her belly, her temper shortened each day. Cranky just didn't suffice. 

Steady was kind enough to let her growing family in -- looks like she didn't have to go crawling back to Silver Creek alone after all -- but Dagfinn had gone off to the coast. The Ciel woman hoped he'd be back to meet the children, or at least would stop by long enough for her to ask him to go back to Spring and invite her, Natashe and Heston to Easthollow.... If she was allowed, that was. 

Today the obsidian woman's hormones were particularly raging, but she wasn't in a bad mood: it was, however, the day her instincts had decided she would find a whelping den. Since dawn, she'd been scouring every inch of the meadow -- the openness of it all made her a little nervous, but at least here she would have more stable ground to dig into, even if there were few trees. 

Grumbling to herself as she hobbled around in the noon sun, Amber wondered how many puppies there were. Her size said a full litter, but their movement was little and it worried her. This only served to drive her paws faster, trotting into the very heart of the meadow and searching out maybe a fallen log, or a hollow tree somewhere.
