Belle's mind raced with memories of her childhood, Steady's attack having brought back more than a few painful ones. Luckily, Chaska stepped in to lure the Alpha away, as had the previously silent Keoni. Once Belle had a moment to recoup, she listened to Steady's reasoning with wary ears. What? she asked, her voice low and shaking. She still cowered in the corner of her den, partly because the space had become quite crowded, but also because she was too shaken to move. Did Steady really think that she was capable of poisoning someone, and a child at that? Was she truly so cold as to give off an aura of ruthless violence.
