Silver Creek Pencils and Pens

She shook her head when he tried to apologize.  "No no, it's alright," she just told him quietly.  Then his story began.  As she listened her heart broke for him as she thought of how terrible it must have been to be so alone, because while she'd been alone for a while, she had met and then journeyed with Laika for majority of her time wandering as a lone wolf.  Her gaze trailed off feeling sick to her stomach as Heston mentioned that he somedays thoguht he would just die, and even though he never said die, she could just tell from how he delivered his words.

At the end of his story she was silent for a while, not sure what to say, because the words "I'm sorry" just didn't seem good enough.  "That's terrible Heston... I don't even know what to say.  At least I had Laika with me on my travels."  She couldn't recall if she had told him about meeting Laika originally on her long trek to Teekon, but either way he knew now.
