The Sentinels estranged

Mannoah stared up at the two, unable to understand even what should have come so naturally in her ailing state. The wolves before her began to separate, multiply, and she could only watch the strange kaleidoscope show as her pain began to fade, as her heart began to beat faster and then... not at all.

Two more breaths were released, one impossibly short and then one impossibly long, and Mannoah could not say whether the air would ever cease to tumble from her lungs. All she knew was that the chill, the hunger, the anxiety that'd gripped her for so long was slowly becoming another figment of her imagination.

She did not live long enough to see the worried look that the Red Mother passed to her alpha.
