Something didn't bode well. But, his trust in the commander's choices, decision, or whatever this may be exactly, ran deep so with a sigh he tried to shake some of the tension before it could take full hold. She'd be back among them soon, although he was perhaps most rubbed wrong by her doing so without a word. He gave a soft grunt as he began to push off a hindpaw to set off again, yet just as he did, realization he was not alone came swiftly. Dio instead turned the motion into arcing towards the vividly-shaded female, and drawing himself up confidently, alert, to return her chuff.
He didn't know her well but Portia did, so by extension, he was not all in the dark. Plus he'd noticed her plenty on their borders, and the kill marks etched into her shoulders told him enough to get a good idea -- she had surely been Trigeda and known Heda for far longer than he. Wolves he knew to come skilled.
"All well on your watch?" he asked first and foremost. There remained that stormy undertone to his countenance, unsettled by their Heda's absence.
