Kaizer realized as he hunkered down to eat, that he'd only killed the creature out of mild boredom; that he wasn't truly hungry and food wasn't at all what he thought he needed. As he started to ponder what it was he truly wanted, his reddened ears twitched up at the sound of Elwood's amiable approach, and his tail began to thump against the ground as he invited the beta closer with his relaxed body language.

The Bluesummer was a virile wolf, by all standards. He very much wanted to usurp the highest ranking male in the caldera, but he wasn't as reckless without the intoxicating aid of hormones, and he knew the smartest way to go about besting Elwood would be to befriend him first. Only in the hopes of dispelling any potential hard feelings that might form between them, should he suddenly feel the desire to cease submitting to him. For now, however, he was quite content to be subservient to the pepper-grey wolf.

"Join me?" he asked, motioning to the cold spot beside him; unabashed about his need for closeness. "I've got food," he further tempted, nosing the half-chewed raccoon to give it an enticing little dead-wiggle.
