Deepwood Weald loneliness lingers through unfamiliar towns

The weather was dragging on her mentally and physically. A perpetual bite to the air that was growing increasingly fatal for each day it lingered, and a gnawing hunger that was impossible to abate by morsels of frozen meat. Her spirits, too, were dampened by stress and worry. Meteora was composed as usual; observing and waiting for the oppertunity to realize their fate. Akantha desperately wanted nothing more than to see the decourus woman to give her some breadth of emotion regarding the situation and give the Adept the satisfaction that nothing was always what it seemed on the surface. 

She swept her gaze around to peer at the snow-kissed ferns of the woodland and frowned. Here they were away from the worst of the wind, but she could not see the Sea and felt about as landlocked as the mountains to the north. Trapped was the word she was trying desperately not to attribute to their current problems but, try as she might, she could not simply will the storm away with her growing ire. Her ears slicked back and her spine bristled at the idea of spending the remainder of the winter so far from the coast. 

Akantha cast a look back at the few gathered and set off into the woods without a heading or a word.
