While the other wolves in the vicinity found these puppies to be the future of the Dark Brotherhood, Atshen only saw them as his next victims. After taking down Bramble, Atshen had felt the actual value of a young life and of just how pleasurable it was to take it away. He found joy in taking away something that felt so pure In addition to the boy's twisted ways, he also knew that the slaying of the children would bring joy to his mother and he could not miss out on an opportunity to one-up his siblings. 

His plotting was disrupted as he felt the stares of the other wolves and at that moment he separated himself from him thoughts in favor to looking to the others. He did not say anything, nor did tense. Instead, he looked on, keeping his gaze on the others while he fell back into his morbid thoughts. He knew that this was not the time to strike, given his company, and he would have to wait for another time to strike. Until he found that opportune time, he would wait.
