As the leader of the Nereides speaks Eske pays close attention, her blue-green sea glass gaze focusing on the opposing leader. She takes in the information that the woman gives freely: that they seek to claim an island off the coast. Eske assumes that it is nearby enough to warrant this meeting and her lips tug into a terse line. It does not seem wise, to her, to claim an island especially when it means these Nereides are reliant on good standing with Drageda or else what? Was it possible that Drakru can make their life a living hell? Eske wonders if this puts power in the paws of their Commander. The other leader speaks of an alliance but at what cost? What can these Nereides offer Drageda that they do not already have? If they could not offer anything worth while then what is the point? Surely there is no benefit to an alliance only being one sided, Eske ponders. Strategically speaking, Drageda could block off their path to the mainland if they wished to, could chase them from Ankyra Sound, she thinks (though she does not know for sure). Eske's attention then goes to Heda, her ears cupped forward in anticipation as to how this will play out.
