Blackwater Islands hart vs hound

As the sea slipped back upon the rocky shore there came an opening — like a sigh — as the sand was revealed. Across its smooth surface were pock-marks indicating shellfish. These things may have been interesting to crabs and gulls, but Hemithea was hardly batting an eye as she slipped across the shining sand. Her paws left wide tracks behind her as she searched the fringe of the sea; she did not have much time, and soon she was retreating back to the safety of firm land. Her chances of finding anything edible were slim, but she thought to try anyways.

Unfortunately, while the woman had been preoccupied with her seaside escapades, she had not noticed the approach of a sister until it was too late. The girl's mirthful voice caught her by surprise and Hemithea's fur rolled and spiked. She looked positively offended by the appearance of the other girl, but after a beat she slipped closer and closer, finding a way up the embankment as if to perform a meet-and-greet.

As she got close, she murmured, No, which was the truth; the standoffish way she so flatly stated her answer was a whole other issue. Clearly the sister had disturbed her, and she wasn't about to play nice with her peace disrupted.
