At the lakes edge in the reeds crouched a hulking wolf he had waited there for more then an hours span, and finally his opportunity arose a swan swan close to him, he liked goos better they were meatier but this would do, he was no feline he didn't have endless patience to wait.

He burst forth and crashed into the water snapping the Swan's slender throat in his teeth, the bird struggled and squawked but quickly fell silent as he walked back to the bank and climbed upon the shore.

The brute gave himself a mighty shake to get the water off and remove the life from the bird now made into a meal. His eyes caught those blue one of the female moving toward the lake with purpose. He grinned and waited for her to approach him, maybe she'd avoid him altogether he hoped not, he'd quiet like some company, He had left his fledgling mountain pack in favor of hunting and finding other wolves who might want a place to call home. So far the pack had more males then females and he desired to even out the ranks, though males were warriors and smart to boot, he enjoyed having intelligent females to draw upon in hard times. They had a sixth sense about things that he and other males lacked.

He bobbed his head in greeting to her, unable to speak with his mouthful, unwilling to pull the swan down unless he knew it was not going to get back up again.
