What was that for? she thought in her sibling's direction. She had half a mind to swat her right back. But then the dark shape was moving closer. Scion braced herself for another attack, only for her sister to bury her face in her neck in a sort of awkward hug.

Oh... Scion thought, sitting very still. This is all right, I guess. And it was, until something—perhaps one of her sister's whiskers—tickled Scion's tiny, soft ear and caused her to rapidly shake her head and accidentally bonk skulls with the other pup.
