It was a race he couldn't win, for time was unbeatable with the tools he now possessed. Their age-gap wasn't the worst though, and he could cope with her being more mature. He went and scratched her age in lines on the ground too, comparing them with squinted eyes. Around what age would his siblings be now? Had they even survived the war and the loss of their ghostly, child-like spirit?

He went to a new patch of sand, pressing his paw on the ground 7 times in a horizontal line. Of course, he had two more siblings, but he didn't know about them.
