Whitebark Stream Fate's Calling (Leila, Slade, Cry)

Leila teared up at the words of Red, her mints watery with the gush. He was truthful and secretive, something she couldn't be, and it was wonderful. If she had kept going, she would have just spilled out the whole story! The urge to rub an appreciative muzzle across him was strong, but she held firm. She needed to see where this situation was going, as it seemed her brother was contemplating some serious things.

His words had indeed shocked her. They were leaving the Bypass? But there were pups just born! They couldn't leave the babies! And she knew exactly who it was Cry was referencing to. As much as she adored Slade, the massive Mackenzie doting on her almost as a daughter he never had the chance to have, she knew the pups needed a future just as much as they did.
