The leviathan's lips raised to match the sprite's sour expression and a deep growl emanated from the depths of his chest — back off. The giant bristled, making himself appear even larger as the bonfire that was his temper was kindled by her words.  His ears pinned forward and his tail whipped against his hocks as he spoke, Perhaps if the mice would be aware of the elephants, they wouldn't get stepped on.  Unlike the chocolate girl, the goliath had a temper that was brooding and cold.  His words were calculated, intentional, and cruel.  Even though he knew he was at fault (and if blamed, would accept it), he was not about to let the fae be so fiery towards him; a packmate, a stranger without consequence.

Additionally, the beast thought nothing of individuals who used their rank to assault those technically underneath them and refused to accept rank as an excuse for poor temperament.  Frankly, he didn't give a damn unless she was his alpha, which she was most certainly not. I am a beast, he responded, deciding at the moment he would not divulge his name — she did not deserve it.  Honestly, he was so fucking big how did she miss him?

He calmed himself, choking back biting words to try to assuage her instead, reminding himself that this was a packmate.  He did not want to fight, he did not want to be blamed for yet another girl's hurt feelings.  But they call me Mattias.
