Kaskara found herself a comfortable spot and settled down, watching the interactions of the group around her. Clearly, most of the wolves already knew each other. She was one of the few outsiders here, but she hoped that soon she would be part of this pack in more than name.

Peregrine requested everyone settle down to listen to the stories, and Kaskara heeded him with a wag of her tail. She set her eyes on Blue Willow, the alpha female - but not wife - of Peregrine. She told a tale that was familiar to her hungry belly, a tale of failed hunts and worse rewards. But it took a better turn as Wolf and his son hunted a seal together and were successful. Kas smiled at the ending and at Blue Willow's words: it was okay to weep, for joy would come after.
