Burke patrolled the borders. It did him well to have daily exercise. At Redhawk, he didn't feel like doing much for that pack so the elder wolf's muscles slowly started to grow stiff. But the tasks he wanted to do for Mato kept him active again. He made sure to be on the lookout for anything suspicious or unnatural.

The older male did keep to his own pace. He was going to take his time with some rests in between. But he was certain that Mato didn't mind. Burke noticed that their numbers with dwindling. It was not a good thing, it was what he was afraid of. He wished he could go out and find loners that might want to join their ranks. But the elder felt vulnerable outside of the pack borders so there wasn't much he could do other than patrol and greet strangers that might be close to their border.
