Whatever his rejoinder, it was cut down in its infancy by Jinx's arrival, and he gave his mate a low chuff from the shadows. Lecter did not approach her, however, for her focused steps were directed toward Erika, and with a satisfied flick of his tail, he wondered if she had discovered whatever it was the Frenchwoman was hiding.

Cara seemed displeased with the gentility Jinx showed unto Erika, and Lecter, though he hid his own expression, shared the sentiment.
