Ferdie scented the air, The meeting with the swiftcurrent creek wolfs left him aggravated and with heightened awareness of prowlers at the boarder he followed the trail the wind gave to him.

His tail flipped up high over his back and he ran his muzzle along Ame's back as he placed himself between her and the newcomer. Ame was able to handle herself but he wanted to be the first to take injury if that was what was going to happen. He stared down at the wolf whom howled then lay down at the borders, his gaze, hidden from Ame was sharp and unforgiving.

He almost had the urge to remark his boarders had didn't move from his location towering above the wolf, This fledgling pack needed physically fit wolves, they had winter to prepare for, and so far this wolf and her scent seemed 'off' to him. She hadn't spoken yet so he gave a warning rumble from deep in his chest, saying with actually saying the words speak now or forever hold your peace... He wasn't a killer, not by far. But he was growing less tolerant of other wolves.
