Dune heard the coyote, understood her even, but he didn't make any show of it. She seemed peeved by his mere presence, yet she wanted his help? Instead, he watched as the coyote dove after the fox, catching its tail. It did not seem like a solid grip, and Dune did not think this fight would last long. Surely, the fox would get away and they would both be left without food. He thought that better than the alternative where the coyote got everything, Dune left with a few bites and no food.
With the comfort of the pack, he did not need to go squabbling over food with other canines. Instead, Dune continued to watch, mildly amused by the spectacle. He watched for a little while longer, eventually turning around and heading away from the coyote and her troubles.
