Hehe I had a little fun with your post. Hope you don't mind. Going to assume she's been given permission to approach the den, but parents if you'd like to intervene, please do!
The first thing that the mouse saw was...well nothing. But even as it peeked out of its little hole, it could sense that it was being watched. The scent of wolves seemed to be everywhere, but that came with the territory. The mouse had decided to move into the pack lands because of the cheap rent. Little did the mouse know that this would be his last payment for the year. The sky was the color of a cloud. He did not need to go into work for another hour, but the scent of wolves seemed particularly strong this morning. Taking a moment more to take in his surroundings, he quickly scurried through the underbrush. Nothing. Then, a sound. Panicking, he took off and ran until everything became an amorphous blob. Alarmingly, one of the blobs moved. Then, everything became black, and when he finally regained consciousness, he realized to his utter horror that he was being suspended from a wolf's mouth! He knew he should have had the second cup of coffee. Scream as he would, the red wolf did not pay any heed. Instead, she seemed particularly merry as she made her way to a place where the scent of wolves grew even stronger. He quickly realized he was approaching a den. He felt himself lowered then lifted as the wolf bowed to other wolves and then he was thrown onto the ground. But when he attempted to run, he found that the red wolf's paw had securely pinned his tail. It was hopeless! In front of him towered yet another wolf, though this one was perhaps cuter--if any wolf could be described as such. She also seemed to be looking for something. "Is this what you're looking for, little one?" the wolf said as she motioned to the mouse. The mouse screamed--or to the wolf's ears, squeaked and squeaked in protest. He most certainly should have stayed for that second cup of coffee. |
