Koji assumed that when one was being hunted, the natural instinct was to either run or hide. He did both. He would tuck himself low to the floor one minute, ears alert for any sound of movement heading in his direction, and in the next moment he’d spring from his hiding place and bounce a few paces away before falling once more. 

Yet the game couldn’t go on forever and the vagabond knew sooner or later he’d either be caught or become bored, the latter of which he hoped to avoid. So he paused upon finding a small clearing just barely large enough for him to fit in, and it was here he decided to wait out the remainder of their game, heart racing as he anxiously waited for the moment when white and red would flash before him and he’d be discovered.
