Thistle flicked an ear back when she heard footfalls, but she did not turn, assuming that it was Ragnar coming home. He sidled up next to her and she leaned into his touch, he smelled like himself, but there was an underlying scent of forest wet leaves and open air, she liked that smell. It reminded her of home. She was surprised that he came from behind her rather than from the front of her, she would remember that and sit sideways next time to watch both ways, if she ever found herself waiting on him again, usually it was not so. Today however was a special case she supposed.
