The pair separate. The blue child waddles in her direction while the boy moves back into the depths of Wildfire. She gives her mate a glance and soft smile, hoping it’ll help soothe her.

Bat’s tiny bark pulls her attention and she looks down, lowering her nose to lap her large tongue across her face. Midway through the lick, she catches the rapid flailing of Tux as he battles against his chosen teat. She winces, moving away from Bat long enough to wrap her teeth gingerly around the plump child and growl low in response, vibrating his little body in warning before she sets him a little higher on the chain for another go at it.

Keeping one eye on the boy, Thuringwethil moves to sweep up the girl and plop her down between her paws for several more careful ministrations of her tongue.
