max never felt physical pain like this before. her legs were weak from running. she’d lost track of time. how long had it been? weeks? months? years? she couldn’t tell. it didn’t matter. all she could care about was the distance between herself and her so called ‘family’.

the smell of water made her realize just how parched she was. the yearling mindlessly followed the sound. her trot turned into a full on sprint as she came closer. she immediately jumped into the pool, laughing and splashing around like a puppy. who knew water could be this great?
